bcs Agency named in PR Week UK Top 150

Thanks to all the teams’ hard work and efforts, bcs Agency has been listed as one of PR Week’s Top 150 agencies in the UK for 2015.

We have been recognised as the highest ranking agency in the East Midlands placed at #23 in the UK’s top PR agencies outside of London and #131 overall in the awards table – which is dominated by agencies from the capital.

A changing landscape…

When we opened the doors to bcs Agency 20 years ago following a management buy-out from the now WPP-owned worldwide Grey Communications Group, we were an advertising and design agency - placing over £250k worth of print advertising for our clients at one point.

Times have changed following the rapid growth of digital marketing and the world is hungry for content rich media. Although I envisage that this may swing full circle and I think we’ll see a resurgence of print direct marketing - just compare what and how many marketing tools you received in your inbox as opposed to your letter box last week and you can see why I think this.

Over the years, our clients began to ask for us to provide more and more public relations services which eventually led to the agency setting up in this area. Now, on and off-line PR, content marketing and social media accounts for 50% of our billings.

​More than just PR

Where some agencies might have struggled to adapt to the proliferation of marketing channels and devices, we have flourished and more importantly, have evolved to meet the needs of our clients in an age where the importance of developing engaging, shareable content increases every day.

To use a well-known saying by Jim Collins in his book From Good to Great, ‘we have the right people on the bus’ by which I mean an excellent, client focussed team. Ultimately, we have developed a very powerful proposition for our clients in our joined up offer around paid, owned and earned marketing communications.

​The future

So what does the future hold for bcs Agency? I’m pleased to say we are up 22% for year-on-year growth at the end of Q2 this year with an excellent pipeline of new opportunities. With our recent acquisition of The Digital Mix into the bcsAgency family, our plan is to expand and to establish ourselves further.

It’s great to be associated with PRWeek and our aim will be to better this year on year. For the time being, a celebratory drink from our Friday drinks trolley is in order!
